Idea — Cloud Shop: own merch & products, backed by sustainable manufacturers
Captured from Daniel, 2026-07-19. The Cloud's shop should sell our own merch and products — not just power other people's storefronts — and source them through sustainable / conscious manufacturers.
The idea
The shop isn't only infrastructure for creators' and brands' stores — it also carries Cloud-owned merch and products as a first-party line. The sourcing principle: back that line with sustainable, conscious manufacturers rather than commodity print shops, so the merch itself expresses the brand's values.
Reference manufacturer — Ambient Inks
[Ambient Inks](https://ambientinks.com/) — Eau Claire, WI. Merch production + management company whose stated mission is to "produce and manage conscious / sustainable merch for artists, brands and orgs."
Services: merch production (screen printing / manufacturing), merch management (data-driven ops), and creative/design — positioning merch as an extension of a brand's creative expression.
Why it fits: intentional, sustainability-forward, artist/brand-oriented — a natural first partner for a values-aligned first-party line. (They keep a dedicated sustainability page; worth a closer read before committing to specific claims about materials/practices.)

Which product categories for the first-party line (apparel, print, physical goods)?
Vet Ambient Inks' actual sustainability specifics (materials, certifications, supply chain) before making any public eco claims.
Build a small roster of sustainable manufacturers (this is the first entry) so sourcing isn't single-supplier.
How the first-party line sits alongside the storefront / co-host commerce work (FRTL, Shopify port) — same catalog engine, different owner.
