the work

slow, simple, body-led.

what somatic therapy is, how a session moves, and what we may work with along the way.

a quiet, grounded session space

the body, not just the story.

talking helps us understand our lives. but understanding alone doesn't always change how we feel — because so much of what we carry isn't stored in the story. it's stored in the body: the jaw we clench, the breath we hold, the shoulders that never quite come down.

somatic therapy works there. instead of analyzing from a distance, we slow down and listen to what the body is already saying — and give it the room, safety, and time to complete what it's been holding.

this is quiet work. there's nothing to perform and no right way to do it. you arrive exactly as you are, and we follow what's true that day.

a session, in three movements

how a session moves

01 — arrive

land & listen

we begin by settling — noticing what's present in the body today without needing to change it. this is where the nervous system starts to trust the room.

02 — move

breath & gentle movement

guided by what your body shows us, we work with breath, grounding, and small intuitive movements to release held tension and stuck patterns.

03 — integrate

settle & carry it home

we close by anchoring what shifted, so the steadiness comes home with you — with simple practices you can return to between sessions.

inside the hour

what we may work with

every session is shaped by what you bring. these are some of the threads we may follow — always at your pace, always by invitation.

i

breathwork

simple, grounding breath patterns that signal safety to the nervous system.

ii

grounding & orientation

coming back to the felt sense of here — the floor, the room, the present moment.

iii

intuitive movement

small, unforced movements that let the body finish what it started holding.

iv

body awareness

learning your own signals — where tension gathers, what it's asking for.

v

unhurried conversation

words when they help, silence when it helps more. both are welcome here.

vi

take-home practices

a few minutes of daily grounding, tailored to you — so the work keeps working.

is this for you?

this work is for you if…

you're moving through a heavy season — stress, transition, grief, burnout — and it's living in your body. you've done the thinking and talking, and you're ready to feel different, not just understand differently. or maybe nothing is "wrong" at all — you simply want a steadier, softer relationship with your own nervous system.

no experience with somatic work, breathwork, or movement is needed. only a willingness to arrive as you are.

sessions

two ways to begin.

every session is one full hour, one-on-one, online or in person. begin with a complimentary intro, or step straight into the work.

5 free slots · limited

free intro session

60 minutes · complimentary

to mark the opening of this practice, i'm offering five free introductory sessions — a full hour to land in the body, experience the work, and see if it's a fit.

  • a full 60-minute session, nothing abridged
  • online or in person
  • no obligation to continue

once all five are claimed, this closes automatically.

good to know

questions, answered.

kai personally reviews every request and replies within a day or two to confirm your time. for paid sessions, your confirmation includes a payment link — your hour is locked in once payment is complete.

both hold beautifully. online sessions happen over video from any quiet spot where you can sit or lie down comfortably. in-person availability depends on location — mention where you are in your request and kai will let you know what's possible.

anything comfortable you can breathe and move gently in. water is a good idea. everything else — including how much or how little you share — is entirely up to you.

none. no background in breathwork, meditation, or movement is needed. the work meets you exactly where you are.

life moves — just let kai know as early as you can, ideally 24 hours ahead, and you'll find a new time together.

no — this work complements, and never replaces, care from licensed medical or mental-health professionals. if you're in acute crisis, please reach out to a qualified provider or local crisis line first. kai's sessions are a gentle, supportive practice alongside whatever care you may already have.

your hour is waiting.

five complimentary slots, then $70 an hour — always unhurried, always yours.

about

hi, i'm kai.

certified somatic therapy practitioner. raised by the ocean. here to help you come home to your body.

kai locey

i grew up in hawai'i, where the ocean taught me early that the body knows things the mind hasn't caught up to yet — that steadiness isn't something you think your way into, it's something you feel your way back to.

i've spent the last years building teams and community — helping thousands of creatives around the world find their people and their footing. i loved that work. it also showed me, over and over, how much people are quietly carrying, and how rarely they're given a real place to set it down.

that's what led me to train and certify in somatic therapy — and it's what this practice is: a steady, unhurried space to come back to your body, and let it lead.

when i'm not in session, i'm near the water, moving slowly, or with the people i love. the way i live is the way i hold space — simple, warm, and unrushed.
